I've never downloaded any war records from National Archives so I'm not sure.

I have downloaded Wills - which have been really helpful and RN sailors records - which have been great - including details of tattoos and height and chest measurements as well as ships served on. The only ones not so good are those where they signed up for the duration of WW1 and they don't contain as much detail.

Hope someone else can help with the war records though.
