Have you tried just looking at the BT telephone directory enquiries online entering the name and seeing what comes up and then contacting people??

Many thanks for all help - some interesting information for me to follow up.

I have no way of knowing at the moment unless direct decendants contact me (heres hoping) but i have since found out that my grandfather had 4 brothers - 2 named Thomas and William (known as Willie), but have no more info as yet?

There is this family in Islington where the husband is an Ice Cream Vendor. I only picked this one out because her name is similar to yours (thought there might be a connection):-

On the Ancestry website there are 64 people with the surname Papa in the 1901 census - a lot of them from Italy. Do you know any first names who would be around in 1901?

new to this game on line and have had no luck with family memebers recent or past. Believe they came over from Italy around the 1900's and built the ice cream empire in London. My grandfather (Charles Papa d.1960's)was one of 4 but his father is supposed to have returned to Italy I believe 1940's.

Does anyone have any info or ideas that can help - I have tried the census, births, deaths and marriages on this site with no luck. Or even know of any family named Papa still in London?
