Birth Death & Marriage Indexes

Some time ago we heard that the birth death and marriage indexes were going to be improved in as much as all the births were to have mothers maiden name added, all marriages were to have spouses added and all deaths were to have ages added.

So what is happening anybody know? When is this supposed to happen?
