Piece number "98" was not used.

Connecting piece numbers and localities:

To identify which parishes or townships are included in a piece, please use The National Archives online catalogue. Search the catalogue by entering the series code and the piece number, e.g. RG 9/217, in the box in the upper left that says "Type reference here."

Alternatively, you can search the catalogue vice-versa (identify which piece number a particular parish or township is part of) by putting a place name in the "Word or phrase" field and "RG 9" in the "Department or Series code" field.

Many 'pieces' of 1861 are not available........it may be that your family is on one of them

where do i start , i am hoping someone will be able to help me with the following nightmare.

my great great grandfather was Robert Cox born 1849 to charlotte cox in 10 dean street workhouse westminster. When robert married he had his fathers name as Robert Sadler Cox quite straight forward at this point but then after searching for a marriage of charlotte and robert nothing appeared. i have a family in the

1851 census of robert sadler 1820 porter westminster
wife charlotte sadler 1821 gloucester
catherine sadler 1842 westminster
robert sadler 1849 westminster

which has to be my family. i then lose track of robert jnr until 1871 where he then appears with henry cox (maybe charlottes brother ) and sarah cox and a william cox ( robert jnr brother ?) they are living next door to the north family roberts future wife.

i have been to westminster archives and found baptism of robert cox and john cox both on the same day in 1852 with mother charlotte cox and father robert sadler in st mathews great peter street.

1861 is proving to be a crucial time that i can't find them as i believe robert sadler died in 1854 and maybe charlotte cox married a henry walker in 1857 ? but again i can't find them either .

i now think a bit of expert help is needed in tracking them down. so here is the family details

robert sadler 1820 westminster porter by trade on cert and census
charlotte cox 1821 gloucester
catherine cox/sadler 1842 westminster
robert cox 1849 westminster
john cox 1852

another possible from a genes member is
william cox 1856 born to a charlotte cox again in a workhouse.

any help gratefully recieved.
