Could someone please have a look on the 1871 Census for me please?

I have Thomas Endley (born 1838 although his age varies slightly in the census ending in either a 2 or a 4) in the 1861 Census living in Market Drayton with his wife Sarah (also around 1838 whose age varies between ending in a 0,2 or 3 in different census info)
and their 1 year old son, Samuel.

I am missing the 1871 Census, but have Thomas and Sarah in Leeds in 1881 and 1891.

In 1881 the are living with their son Thomas aged 19 (and born in Shropshire) and Anne Wormold (who later become Annie Endley and shows as adopted in the 1891 Census) and both children are still with Thomas and Sarah in 1891, Annie (now Endley) is aged 14 and Thomas, the lucky devil, has only aged 7 years in the last 10 and is showing as 26.

I have a death for Thomas in 1899 but cant find one for Sarah or find her, or any of the children in the 1901 Census. I also have a Matilda Endley attached to Thomas and Sarah, but that may have been an error as now cant find anything in my notes about her other than her being born in Hodnet around 1864.

Anything for 1901 or 1871 would be helpful. Thank you

I now have Thomas, but not Sarah in 1901 and Samuel disappears completely after 1861 census - no birth or death :(

thank you for finding Thomas.. That can't be Sarah's death though as I have her in the 1881 and the 1891 census - just loose the rest of the family after Thomas dies in 1899 and cant find them on the 1901 census. Can you find Sarah on the 1871 census with Samuel?

Thank you Claire too - that could be her, wonder what happened to Samuel... Sarah should be with both Samuel and Thomas (jnr) in 1871 if dad was in hospital.

No Samuel

Does it show the name of the hospital that Thomas Snr was in on the census info please?

It looks like North Staff Infirmary

I can see on Ancestry, but not all of it as its locked, but there is a Samuel Endley born circa 1862 in the 1871 census from shropshire, and in the 1891 census in flintshire wales showing as married. It possibly isnt him as he was in the 1861 census as a one year old. But I cant find a death for him either. would someone be able to have a look at let me know what it says please?

yes thank you Julie - just trying to work out where Samuel goes to. Found a samuel on other census's born in 1862 which is slightly out but then again, never find that they are bang on right each census. Just cant view the rest of the info to know who he is living with. The same samuel Endley seems to have moved to Wales in 1891 census. Unlike the William, Thomas, George and John Endley's of which there are lots, there only seems to be a couple of Samuels. there is one birth on ancestry, which isnt the right one and 3 marriages, which could arguably be the same person! hahaa

Edwin Fred, Martha Eliza and William G all ring bells, although when its a fairly uncommon surname and children stay with grandparents/aunts/uncles/cousins etc it starts getting confusing and keeping tabs on who should actually live with who isnt good for my head at this time of night ;)
