Job is a name in its own right and not an abbreviation.

The meaning of Job

Meaning: He that weeps or cries
Origin: Hebrew
Meaning: Persecuted. In the Old Testament, Job was remembered for his great patience ('the patience of Job').
The boy's name Job is pronounced johb.
