Hi Sally,

I have just 'bumped up' a thread for you - Contact Joan Allan - she knows all about this sort of thing and gives very good advice.

My Mum was adopted and I know her original name and also her Mum's name and occupation. How do I go about finding out if anyone knows my birth Grandma without letting possible unknown cats out of bags? I'd just like to find out if she went on to marry and maybe if she died just so I can add her to my tree. But I don't really want ot upset anyone in the process.
I can't ask Mum anything as she died from Alzheimer's last year aged 63.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
