Try googling 'Probate Office Birmingham' or wherever you are. Or look in the yellow pages.

you dont need to go to your local office, any probate office will be able to do a 3 year search for you, Cardiff are extremely fast their telephone number is 02920 376476

the probate registry's charge £5 for a 3 year search from date of death, they will send you a copy of hte probate and will if there was one
