Teresa With Irish Blood in Me Veins

Teresa With Irish Blood in Me Veins Report 2 Mar 2008 21:14

Hi Lorraine

You could try and apply for the marriage certificate of Thomas Gibbons & Sarah Harding from the Dublin Records Office.

You would neeed to know if your father had any siblings..and which one was the eldest to have some idea of when they married and just quote an approx year of marriage on the application form.

That's what I did to get a copy of my Grandparents marriage certificate.

See my thread ''IRELAND GRO websites.....for those that don't know''

Once you have the marriage certificate it will give you their fathers' names and then you can search the 1911 Dublin City Census records.

The 1911 Dublin City census is on line..for free.

Go to www.census.nationalarchives.ie/ and search by name!

When you've found one that is 'yours' then click on the name and then click on

Household Return (Form A), Page 1 to see the census image.

It also tells you how many child born alive and how many still living.

Hope this gives you a start on tracing your Irish family.

Regards...Teresa
