Can any kind person tell me if it is possible to find out who was living at an address in Edinburgh in 1901 onwards without the aid of a surname. I am looking for the occupants of 5 Duke Street. Thanks. |

I'm not sure if it's possible, but have you tried census checks? |

Thanks Claire. How on earth did you do that so quickly? I would really like to know. I have been trying to find them for ages. You are a gem. |

I sellected "UK census collection" & then opted for the 1901 Scottish census, typed in the address & up it popped! |

Another avenue would be the voters roll for the head of families and also the Valuation Rolls . A third possibility is the post directories .Check the City of Edinburgh Library site as they have a very good reference Library. |
