Hi Girls he ended up in Salford..and has his records they give nothing regarding info.. only the same thats on his birth cert mothers name

We have a lady with the same surname as his mother who marries a Mr x cant say you understand..in 1936 she was 32.. he alot older.. at this address in 1938 onwards.. we think that maybe this was her mother.
She was single when she married.. so could have had this guys mum out of wedlock when a bit younger..
WE have electoral rolls etc and his mother isnt listed.. we have searched marriages for her 1940 onwards and not found one..

We feel its getting us knowhere..

Thanks Colette

Colette,,,a baby can end up many miles from its birth place for adoption,,,but usally from back to them years a birth mum would often leave the baby behind in the county of its birth if born in a m&b home and he/she be adopted from there,,,but not always,,,

Hi Colette

Often at that period mother and baby homes were run by the Catholic church - they provided a refuge for pregnant girls whose families would not or could not look after them up to the birth, and arranged for the baby's adoption. There is a Catholic church (St Aidans) on that road - perhaps contact the priest to see if he can advise further?

Hi all would anyone know of a Place named St Saviours Mother & Bay home 21 a Manor Rd Kingsthorpe Northamptonshire 1940s -50s..

Another question regarding adoption if a baby was born in this home and given up for adoption could they end up in another county quiet far away.

Regards Colette
