Does anyone know - when a death is registered does the persons name have to be their birth registered name? |

The name would be 'as known' to the person registering it.......likewise her age. |

My Nan was always known as Maud Edith when actually she was Edith Maud. on her death cert in 1989 it has Maud Edith otherwise Edith Maud and she has a death ref under both names |

When a death is registered as far as I know the name does not have to match birth cert. My grandmother never married my granfather but her death was registered using his Surname because she had been known for many years by that name. No change by deed poll etc, people merely knew her by that name. |
