Why do some people never reply to emails ?????

This is really annoying me.

New person to GU has put up her tree - so she comes up in my hot matches 4 weeks ago with 15 matches. Yippppee I think.

So I send her a friendly message explaining my link to the family and saying "happy to swap info" - then I send another one. And another. I send a request to view her tree. TWICE !!!!

Not one reply. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr why do they join if they have no intention of replying to anyone.

Perhaps this person has not been using her computer.....for any number of reasons.

Sorry, but this sort of thing does happen.

I have a hot match with 3 people in a tree. I have been trying for 2 years periodically.

I even contacted GR about it, they say that they cannot make people reply but that they may not still be a member.....frustrating particularly as I am stuck with this branch of my tree!

GR insist that they pass on the messages, but if they have changed e.mail address, they won't get them and there is nothing they can do about it.

You will have to hope that they rejoin at somepoint....keep trying... I am!

Just a thought not everyone has a computer and she may be using a friends or a library one and therefore not on GR that often...somebody on the boards a few days ago had a reply from a pm they had sent 4 years ago!

There is no way of knowing, thats why I think GR should remove the trees when someone doesn't renew membership. Placing them in a store somewhere. Then if the membership is renewed..the tree can be restored. A bit like disconnecting the electricity supply. It would save other members a lot of wasted time!
