My Nans surname was Fallover. Its such an unusual name and all the Fallovers seem to be related. The earliest on the IGI is the early 1800's. There is a John Fallover, 1752 but I have discounted it because on a visit to the LMA it turned out to be a John Fallows. I can only think that the name has changed over the years and that it might have been a foreign name. I remember my Nan telling me that half the family pronounced the *A* in Fallover, phonetically.
Would appreciate any ideas on what the name could have been.

Do you know who Ivy's father was? Have you traced the family back to the 1841 census?

Hi Rose,
I have managed to trace my 3 x grt grandfather Henry on the 1841 census. He was born in Romford, Essex, abt 1816. I have the family on all the other censuses. What I can't find is any Fallovers before the 1800's

I also found the marriage between a John Fallover & Susannah Carter, in Aveley Essex, 1806.
