Thank you again RobG. Yes there is a Cranford Street in my A-Z of Birmingham/Smethwick.

I live quite near the area and can say today Cranford Street is not what it was in 1891. What I mean is the old housing has been demolished.

Just had a look on Multimap and there certainly is a Cranford Street in Smethwick now.

Thanks RobG, I can make out 41 "Back of" too, now you have mentioned it:)) I will have to investigate whether there was a Cranford Street or something like it in Smethwick in 1891.

Looks to me like:
"41 Back of" then dittoed down ?Cranford St?

Need someone with better eyesght than mine to read the address in the 1891 census for:

John Hadley 66 M General Labourer born Stafford, Smethwick
Anne Hadley 61 M born Lanchashire, Warrington,

Civil Parish Harbourne, Urban District Smethwick, Hamlet Smethwick, Parlament Borough Handsworth.
