Help to import gedcom file

I've done this before and got it to work but I must be doing something stupid.When i try to import it says it must have the extension .GED
What do i have to do to get it to work?

I can only do from FTM

EXPORT FILE
ENTIRE FILE
Give your file a name
Press the little blue arrow next to " Save as type" (under file name) & change to last option GEDCOM [*.GED] the press SAVE
