Freebmd doesnt like me today so please could anyone help me find the following.

Please bear with me while I explain all I know and afraid info is a bit patchy as comes from a 88year old gran whos memory isnt good.

She has a cousin called John Baker he came to live with her and her grandparents in Essex we dont know why but he left to get married.

Nan was born in 1919 and he was a little older than her and was born in Walthan Cross/Cheshunt in Herts his parents I am not sure which son it was but going on ages am plonking on Hubert brn 1889 to Harry Baker and Ellen Andrews.

Nan left her grandparents in 1934/6 so he left to marry before then.

Can anyone help find his birth reg for me.

Poor nan keps thinking he will still be alive today which is very unlikely but then I suppose when she has nothing else to occupy her each day is like the next and you forget how many years have passed.

Thank you

dawn

If they were in that area the whole time then there is this
Births Dec 1888 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BAKER Hubert Richard Edmonton 3a 423
and
Surname First name(s) District Vol Page

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marriages Dec 1908 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BAKER Hubert Richard Edmonton 3a 950

But it is all very iffy......

I think you would do better to do a full tree for your Nan..track her parents and their brothers and sisters and than track all THEIR children...use the censues and free bmd.....I'm sure people here will help

Does Nan know who he married?...and when.
It might be easier to work back from there.

At least then we would have a better idea of his birthdate.

have a possible marriage for parents if its Hubert in edmonton in 1908 so they would all fit, could be needle and haystack time.

Gwyn and Joan

Nan is very vague and just gives us snippets but she keeps going on about cousin John.

I cannot find anyone who is related to any of Harry and Ellens children, cant even find a marriage for those two. The nearest I get is someone who is distantly related to one of his children by his first mariage but she doesnt know anything about the 2nd lot of children.

Am just guessing it is Hubert who is the father of John as the next son was born 1892 which doesnt really give him much time to get married and have a child in the time frame, unless it was the 1st daughter who was born 1890 and maye thats why the son went to live with his grandparents to hide him away.

All guess work im afraid so may be a lot of certificate buying

Joan that would fit with Huberts dads name.

Maybe I plump for that cert and see if its them and work that way round
