Cecilia bn 1893.Osmond bn 1895.Margaret bn 1896 also any later siblings.Parents John Benedict Winrow and Margaret Rimmer....Any family connection? unless they moved to a different area Margaret is the last one on the lancashire bmd site with mother's maiden name Rimmer. Coverage of Walton-le-Dale is up to 1935, but other areas the coverage is less and mmn only shown for some areas of Preston.

thankyou. Mary Ellen was born 13 September 1888.8 St Helen's Road Ormskirk. I realise now that Walton le Dale is Lostock. I know the family were in Ormskirk in 1901 when Mary Ellen was a cotton Weaver. and she married in Rotherham 1st October 1905 aged 17 years., The parents were in Rotherham in 1905. at 218 Effingham st. Rotherham.

The family certainly moved around. Where did John & Margaret Rimmer marry? I was looking at the lancs opc site & there are loads of Winrows baptised/married in Ormskirk but unfortunately there are some gaps in the coverage. I didn't realise Winrow was such a popular name in the area tho I recognise several names (some of which are in my research, as is Rimmer) of the people they married.

So they married in Ormskirk area, had a child or two, moved to Longtonhad another couple, then Lostock, had a few more, back to Ormskirk then to Rotherham. What was John's occupation that kept him on the move. Just curiosity now - I have no family connection

just found them on freecen in 1991 in Farington, Preston. I see John worked for the railways which would account for the places he was in.

Yes John Winrow was a railway worker and joiner. I have not found their marriage. they went where the company sent them. It looks as though the children liked the Lancashire side of England as Mary Ellen died in Haslingden where her husband was in the police. Her husband John Chatterton moved back to Rotherham after a remarriage. and had 4 more children.

Still trying to find out more about the Winrow family. In particular families of Cecilia,(Templeton) Osmund (O'Brien) Margaret (Birch ?) Mary Ellen had two sons. My father James and George. born Rotherham. THey each had a daughter. I would appreciate any further info anyone may have. <3
