My father was a Willard and his family came from the area around Hastings.A couple of years ago i had an interesting contact from someone trying to track down a James Willard circa 1820's who had, as the family history said, murdered his girlfriend was taken to court, but not convicted. The lady in question was found drowned in Bodium castle moat...which is the village where my father lived when young. We wonder if this James Willard is linked into our family? anyone who see's this and may have some info please get in touch.
