i am trying to find my great grandfather,he is the father of george harrison white (grandfather)who was born 10th february 1883 i have been told he was born in the workhouse in leeds to his unmarried mother, but on the free bmd site i have found a george harrison white born in doncaster, his mother was anne white born in wroot/lincoln 1860. in the 1901 census he is called george cox, and his mother is called anne savage, living in south kirby west yorkshire, i think his mother must have been married twice, but cannot find any trace of a marriage. george married a bertha dyas and then had 8 children, laura, hilda, doris(my mother), george, james, pauline and bertha. any info would be helpful. thanks elaine |
