I am looking for any information regarding my grandfathers parents. He was Montague Henry VINE and he was born in about 1888 in Chippenham Mews Paddington. On his birth certificate his fathers name is given as Henry - on his mothers death certificate as Edward - on his own marriage certificate as William Henry - so I am not sure what his correct name is. According to the 1891 census Montague's mother Emily VINE was listed as a widow - however I've never been able to find a record of his death - neither have I been able to find a record of Emily (nee Grainger)'s marriage so wonder whether he existed or whether Emily invented him. Emily was born in 1847 and died in 1908. Any information would be most welcome as I have been trying for years to get further back into my family tree. Thankyou Geoff Vine |
