Margaret, welcome to the boards. You have picked on a thread that is 8 years old, Jeffrey is probably not looking for answers now, even if still a member. To try and contact him, you could click on his name and send a personal message - Genes will forward it to him if he still gas the same email address that he registered with GR.

If you want help yourself, then I would suggest opening a new thread of your own on the Find Ancestors board.

I am researching Deryck Cobham Spencer. did you finally find the correct mother?

Hi Kathryn B,

Thanks for your info,
Evelyn C Ellis born West Ham proved not to be
Elizabeths Mother as the Father was not Robert
Walker Ellis, but I will follow up on your other suggestions.

-- and it looks like the best match for her, but do take a shot yourself at www.freebmd.org.uk -- then either both her parents were named Ellis before marriage, or Mr. Ellis wasn't her daddy. ;)


The only Robert Walker Ellis entries indexed at FreeBMD (he could have been Robert or Robert W, of course) are:

The Mr. Walker on her marriage certificate could have been her grandfather. That was fairly common practice for children of unmarried mothers.

Trying to find information re-my Partner Elizabeths Birth Mother Evelyn Constance Ellis( Born circa 1920) in 1942 she lived at 55 Okehampton Street,Willesden, Middx. in 1944 she Married Deryck Cobham Spencer at Hendon registry office, On her Marriage certificate her father is Robert Walker Ellis a retired Surveyor.

Evelyn worked as a clerk at the Ministry of Aircraft Production
( M.A.P) in 1942,
If anyone has any information relating to M.A.P and Evelyn Ellis
we would be very grateful.
