Monica, as this is a very old post, John may no longer be following it. If you click on his name, you can send him a message and if he still has the same email address, GR will notify him.

I have just come across your message of 7 years ago as I search for information about Quosquo Hall.My ancestor John Graves and his wife Susannah (nee Hinsley)lived there along with their children from 1840 approx. until John's death in 1869 when he left an estate of £9000. Quosquo Hall was the Dower House for Carlton Towers apparently. Sadly there is little information about the Hall at that time. Hull history Centre have the Stapleton Papers from an earlier period. I would be interested to know who your ancestors were.

Does anyone have any information about Quosquo Hall, House and Cottages in Yorkshire around the 1840's or the people that lived and worked there. The site is at present occupied by The Aire and Ouse Mining Co. Ltd., Quosquo Hall, Camblesforth, Selby, North Yorkshire, YO8 8JB. I think that my great grandfather, Henry who was born in Cowick, and/or his father, John, may have worked there. The Hall is now farm buildings, the House is a hay barn and the Cottages were recently rebuilt.
