Find Ancestors

Hi could someone please look on the 1891 census and see if they can find Charles Chorley. He would have been about 26yrs old and born in Taunton Somerset.

Could you also look up Ada Louisa Hampson who would have been about 24yrs. Ada Father was called James but i dont know whether he was still alive then. James was a Solicitor

I believe they were both living around the Bedford area.

Jane, No luck with so far I'm afraid, the only Ada Hampsons are seem to all be in the Cheshire and Lancashire area. Could it be one of these? I can't find a Charles Chorley of the right age born Somerset. Do you have any family member names for either of these two? Or an occupation for Charles which might help to narrow it down. Have you found them on the 1881 census? Emma.

Hi I have looked on the 1891 census for you. There are no Charles Chorley's born in Taunton. There are a few possibles born in other parts of Somerset. Details are: Charles Chorley(has been listed as Charley in the index) age 29 a Railway Porter born in Wiveliscombe, Somerset. Charles Chorley age 20 a Servant on a Farm born Fitzhead, Somerset. These are the possible Ada Hampson's: Ada Hampson age 24 a Nurse in the Chorlton District Workhouse born Stockport. Ada Hampson age 25 a Dressmaker born Seacombe, Cheshire a Lodger at Broughton near Salford. All the others listed are either listed as someones wife or have the wrong fathers name. Emma Thanks a lot for looking for me. In 1901 Ada is married (Charles Chorley) and is Matron of Gt Berkhamsted Workhouse, Hertfordshire. Charles is the Master. It states her place of birth as Chesh Stockfort. Charles place of birth was Milverton, Somerset. There ages in 1901 were Ada 30yrs and Charles 32yrs. Ada and Charles married 15th Oct 1893. I couldn't find them on the 1881. Hope this helps. Thanks again Jane
