It looks as though Harold and Dora got married in Toowoomba, Queensland, where he enlisted, and had a child. Queensland BMDs are here, but unfortunately they only go up to 1914 so far: http://www.justice.qld.gov.au/bdm/IndexSearch.htm It looks as though Dora may have remarried after Harold died; a Dora Salmon married an Orchard Clark in Tenterfield, NSW in 1921. |

Harold married a girl called Dora according to his service record, but I can't find a marriage for him in the NSW BMD index. Harriette M Dodson was born in Sydney in 1866, parents John S and Rebecca Dodson. Herbert W Salmon married Hanrietta M Dodson (presumably a typo for Henrietta or Harriette) in Woollahra NSW in 1892. Hi I am trying to find information on one of my rellies who emigrated to Oz. Herbert William Salmon was born 1869 Hampton, Middlesex. He went to Australia where he married Mary H ? She is on the 1901 census which states she was born Sidney, N S Wales. They had a son born 1894 in Sydney named Harold George who was killed in 1917. On the 1901 census the family is back in England with another child, Beyrl who was born in Hampton. I believe they returned to Oz sometime after this date. I would love to get their marriage details and birth details of both Mary and Harold. Can anyone please help? regards gina |
