I believe that i have two great uncles who moved to Alberta Canada between the wars. One of them owned a smallholding of some kind. They were my grandmother Lisbet Loscher nee Poweleit's brothers. One of them changed his name to Powell and the other kept his original surname but I don't know any more about them. I was told that one of them had a daughter whom he called Mary-Lou and that she also had a son, but was not married to the father. The last time I heard about them was in 1985 when my mum's cousin Christa Wolf went to stay with them. Her mother was my Tante Truda (Great aunt)who was 90 years old then. |
