Trying to find McCann

I am trying to find my husbands family. All we know is that they lived in Chorlton in Manchester, having come from Ireland. The fathers name was James and Mother was Mary. They had Jim, Tom (who was my father in law), Leo, and 2 sisters. They all attended St John's RC Church in Chorlton. My father Tom was born in 1913. He married Hilda who was C of E, which caused a rift. Tom and Hilda had 2 boys, David and Martin (who is my husband). They lived in Stretford. Tom died in 1972. We have tried to trace the family and believe that some of them moved to Sale in Greater Manchester. If there is anybody out there that can shed some light on this and help Martin to find his family we would be very grateful.
