Trying to find Gartland

Trying to find info. about my great great grandfather, Eugene (Owen) Gartland born in Co. Monaghan, Ireland in 1826 (according to British Census records). Arrived in England around 1848 with some of his family but other members of family went to America and Canada. Married Mary Clark in Sunderland, Co.Durham in 1852 and they had six children. Mary died in 1870 and by 1871 the three younger children were in the workhouse and Owen was lodging in a sailors' boarding house in Sunderland's East End. No records of Owen after that time. Anyone out there recognise any of these details relating to their own families? |
