Hello! I am trying to find out any info on Edith Mary Cockton, my grandmother, who was an orphan and was taken in by an Albert Standen family in Horsham Sussex. I can find her on the 1901 census living with them, but nothing before that date.Family rumor was that she was actually a daughter but can prove or disaprove this rumor. She should show up somewhere on previous census's but can't find her.I had contacted orphanages but no luck there. Any ideas anyone?? You can email me at [email protected]
