BIRMINGHAM -- My grandfather,Charles William Hill was the Superintendant of the Kings Norton Metal Works and lived in Kings Heath about 1890/1930. he had three wives (not all at once!)and thirteen children. My father,Percy, was one of the middle batch and died 1970. He maintained no contact with his four elder brothers, all of whom were engineers,(Austin apprentices?)one departing to America to work for Ford.I know little about them, not even their names,as father would not discuss them, hated engineering, and(when he could be persuaded to work!)was a clerk. I have been an engineer all my life, and would love to hear details of my uncles and cousins. |
