My name is Margaret Wood. My maternal grandmother was Sarah Maria Pitches nee Tash. She was the eldest daughter of Rebecca Charlotte Tash nee Sales. Sarah was one of a large family. When her father died she had to leave school and look after the younger children while her mother, Rebecca Charlotte went out to work. Apparently she was a manageress of a shoeshop. I assume they lived in or around Dulwich, Camberwell. Sarah married Oliver Pitches and they had three children, Horace (known as Son or Sonny), Emily Lilian (known as Lily or Lilian or Pat)and Molly.
