Member Since: January 2003 Posts: 7 Send Message	trying to find information about George DOWDING, born about 1800 in Bourton, North Dorset. I believe he was a major land owner/farmer and had a son also called George. By 1871 there were several large farms around the Gillingham, Dorset area owned by Dowdings including Henry/Emily Dowding, William/Mary Dowding and the two Georges(married to Mary and Hannah).
