Member Since: February 2003 Posts: 0 Send Message	Looking for ancestor with the surname Blackwood who went to America gold prospecting and we think put down roots in Oakland California in the USA. He was born in the North East of England and then returned to the North East when he was elderly but unfortunately died on the ship the White Star Line SS Majestic on the way back to the USA about 1919. I don't know his name but he would have possibly been either the Son or brother of Adam Blackwood (from Glasgow)and Great Uncle of William Blackwood (North East)
