Pat, it's over 10 years since Bertha posted this and she's never posted again since.

The only chance I think you have of making contact is to attempt a direct message by clicking on her name.

Good luck.

Hi Patrick

this post is 10 years old, click on her name and send a message...if her email address is still the same she will be notified

If you have already sent a private message and there is an envelope still showing, it means it has not been read

Hi Bertha, I am not sure if you got my previous response, but I am practically certain that the person you are seeking & the "Raymond Nicholas Byrne" that I have in my family tree are one and the same. Born on 2nd May 1906 to John Byrne (originally from Co. Wicklow) & Mary Adeline Andrews (originally born in Co. Dublin ?), at Quay Road, Ballycastle. His mother may have died in childbirth or from complications therefrom as she died in the same year & quarter that he was born. John & Mary Adeline had quite a large family of at least 11 children. His father John died in early 1911 1st qr. of 1911 which is why he does not appear in the 1911 census in Ballycastle and also explains why RJB is living with his two Aunts Deborah Byrne & Elizabeth Neill (nee Byrne) in Baltinglass on 1st April 1911.
I have only found a single discrepancy - in the 1901 census John Byrne then living in Ann St., Ballycastle, describes himself as a farmer, whilst on your parents marriage record in 1928 in Baltinglass, RNB describes his father as an Architect, he himself is a farmer and no mention of an optician.

My name is Elizabeth Byrne (now Fong). I am seeking information about my father RAYMOND NICHOLAS BYRNE, born Ballycastle,Co.Antrim.Ireland in 1906. Died Dun Laoghaire,Dublin, March 31st 1976. Last known address was "The Wish" Dun Laoghaire.Dublin. He is one of the "Co.Wicklow" Byrne family.Father was John Byrne. My parents separated when I was a very young child and I did not know my father. He had a "Common Law" wife, believed to be "Betty Byrne" and they lived in the Dublin/Dun Laoghaire, area. They were Opticians in Dublin. Any information regarding Raymond's life and movements, would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
