Alex - as both the posters last added to this thread 2003 & 2009, they probably won't be checking the site/thread any more.

Send them a message by clicking on their names. If they can still access the email address registered with GR, they will know that you are trying to contact them.

Fingers crossed

Just joined this site and found your message. My husband's grandmother was Bertha, daughter of Simon and Phoebe and sister to Edith Florence. She moved to Canada in 1907. Her brother, Alexander, also lived in Canada for a short time. My father-in-law spent much time in England during the war and was friendly with the maiden aunts and cousin Judith. Have some pictures. Hope you are still in contact with the site and we can share our information.

I am trying to find any relation of the Kelf Family, my maternal grandmother's family. My grandmother was Edith Florence Kelf daughter of Simon Kelf and Phoebe Emanuel. She had 4 brothers and 4 sisters, all of whom I believe were born around 1900. 3 sisters & 3 brothers remained unmarried but of the others: Henry Kelf married Clara Louise Davies Christchurch NZ, died 1951. no known children. Albert Edward Kelf married Isabel Jardine of Caversham, Oxon. He died aged 54 year unknown, she died approx 1959. 4 children - Leslie Jardine who moved to Capetown, married twice but no children of his own. - Margaret Florence who married and later divorced Raymond Eckersall (originally from Manchester) in Capetown where she was last heard of. - Muriel Kelf married Cyril Stubbs in Capetown, 2 children Diana and Tony, Muriel died in childbirth, Cyril remarried, - Harrold Kelf married Robin Herbert in South Africa, 2 children Ann and Peter who died aged 4 after heart operation. Bertha Kelf married Fred Davies in Reading, she died 1947, he died 1960 in London Ontario, 2 children Violet Bertha & Ronald Davis both last known of in London Ontario. I believe both Albert and his son Leslie worked on SA railways. The family was originally Jewish I believe most converted to Christianity (United Reform or Episcapalian) except for my grandmother who went on to help run a home for elderly Jews in South London. She became Kelf-Cohen when she married my grandfather Reuben (Ben) Cohen. Any information on any of the family would be much appreciated.
