I just saw something on your message which prompted my memory. A John Holdsworth is researching Briggs name and he gave me access to his tree. I have found details of my Granddads brother on there but also there is a little section which doesn't seem to be related to this part of the tree and is a fluke of marriage. But it starts with a George Henry Briggs born 1871 in Lincoln and died 1950 Lincoln. He married Florence Northedge (1881-1971) in September 1901 in Gainsborough, Lincs. Their children were Florence and George Henry both born Lincoln. Going back through pedigree other names by marriage are Berry, Coggan, Starr, Hewitt and Wells. I don't think this is part of my family but you never know.

Do you have any dates of birth for William Briggs? I have links with Williams, one of which was my grandfather but he was born Lanarkshire. However other family members look as though they moved to Lincolnshire before moving to Yorkshire. So confusing with most generations using the same Christian names every which way!!

I am looking for my Grandfather William Briggs' family in Gainsboro Lincs. Have very little information other than he married my Grandmother Rose Talbot from Mansfield Notts pre 1913 and moved to Derby. He was a Barber and I believe his father was a ships carpenter.
