Hi, Ian,

My Dad was also a Petty Officer on the Warspite in WW2.

I don't have his service record but I do have some pics of the Warspite in action and on pre-war cruises (Dad joined in 1936/7).

If you'd like copies, let me know.

Here's a coincidence for you: my older grandson was learning about WW2 at school last year and he had the information on his great-grandad from me. While he was talking to his maternal grandmother she told him that her Dad had served on the Warspite. He replied that he already knew to which she asked, 'How?'.

As you'll guess both of his great-grandfathers had served on the Warspite during WW2!

Hi......IAN SANSOM of Methil, Fife trying to build a family tree, but know very little of my paternal side in particular. My father Douglas James Sansom had 2 brothers, Michael and Charles. Their father, also Charles was in the RAF. His wife was Alice [ maiden name unknown I`m ashamed to admit]. Strong family connections to RAF although my dad was a Petty Officer Royal Navy on HMS Warspite in WW2. Main connections that I know of centre around the Lilley area outside Luton. There appear to be Bedford & Worcestershire connections too. Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
