Charlotte Victoria Beckett born in Eastbourne about 1880. She had a sistor Jane. Her Father was a Bandmaster. Both Charlotte[known always as Lot or Lottie] and Jane went to work as nurses in the asylum at Chartham in Kent. Charlotte married Percy Lawless of Canterbury and they had 2 children Margaret Victoria [my mother] and Percy John Basil. Her husband Percy was killed in action at Jutland whilst serving on HMS Cheshire. From this period until her death in 1970 she lived in Woolwich. London. SE18 I know she had several brothers and her husband's family came from Canterbury. Where are you all ? Ivor John Bailey [her grandson] |
