MY Name is Erin McConkey From New Zealand. I am trying to find ancestors From COUNTY DOWN .My grandad Terence McConkey was born in Donaghadee(1912/13) with his 4 other bro's& sisters-Edith,Frances,Ernie and Herbert. There Mothers name is Jane McConkey(Formerly Nee saunders) She Died shortly after Terence was Born 1913-15?. Robert thier father left for Australia and remarried a lady and had a child called Bob(Possibly named as Robert aswell) .The Children were raised by there eldest sister or thier Uncle Jim? in Donaghadee .So I'm trying to trace any ancestors from County Down or Antrim. There must be a link here somewhere in Nth Ireland. I know there is! There is about 40 new relations to add to this clan( from Nth Ireland). They Mostly live in New Zealand now. ( Land of Paradise!!)Please give me some glues if you might know at least a possible connection? Thanks Erin McConkey

my father Fergus Mcconkey was born in Donaghadee in 1915. He was 1 of 8 children born to John McConkey and Agnes (nee Angus). it is extremely likely that we are distantly related,

I too live in NZ, and we may be able to help each other. I believe Robert, who married Jane Saunders, married a second time to Elizabeth Warren (nee McGrouther). I do not have much on Robert, but just found a bit more, including your messages on the Internet.

First, please remove your email address from your posting.

this is NOT a safe site, and it is actually against the T&Cs of GR to post a personal email address ................. they say they will remove any post containing personal addresses, and have been known to do so.


Second, this thread was started in 2005 ......... McConkey McConkey apparently never returned. Neither did Anne who posted in 2007

GR does not send emails to notify people of new posts on threads.



It is possible that neither of them are still active on the Boards, especially as Anne is showing as having 0 posts to her name.



You should contact McConkey McConkey through the internal messaging sysem (known as private messaging, or pm)

Click on her name, and type your message in the box that appears.


GR will then send her an email to say there is a pm waiting .............. IF she still has the same email address that is on file with GR, then she will get the message and be able to reply to you.

Researching:
My brother, photo taken in September 1991 just a couple of weeks before he died. ............................................................ To help us and to get better results, please post as much detail as you can, especially name, date(s) and place. Also say what you already know.
