Trying to find Hulme

trying to find any members of the Hulme family on my maternal grandmothers side. She wasElizabeth Hulme nee Foster. The Hulmes were originally from Upholland near Wigan and they had a farm called Throstles Nest. my g grandfather was Charles and he had 3 sisters, one called Polly and a brother Jim. The children were: John Humphrey (Jack) b. 1889 - married Elizabeth Foster Maggie - married Richard (Dick) Davenport a policeman Annie - married James (Jim) Hinchliffe Charles - married Gladys and owned Belle Vale Service Station, L'Pool Harold (Harry) - married Marjorie ran the family coal business in Gateacre L'Pool George - married Gertrude Hounsley Whilamena - died of the Black Flu in 1918 along with her mother Constance b. c1908 - married George and moved to Kent James - married Vera Misha - died as a baby and was buried in a paupers grave There were two other children If anyone has any details of any or all of the above it would be greatly appreciated |

You can go to that post and click on edit You can then remove the email address and re submit |

Hello Carol, if you go to your post above there is the word "edit" just above it. If you click on that you can then get back into the post to amend what's in there. Then just delete the bit with your email address. |

Thanks - I have just done that. For a first time user it is a complex site to manipulate, and actually I have frequently contacted people on other sites when the postings have been old, with much success. I realize it is unlikely, but always worth a try. |

I agree Carol, the site takes a bit of navigating but worth sticking with it for the help you get on the boards, there are some excellent researchers on here. |

Thanks for all the good advise. I do appreciate it. I thought I would also let you know that Ann made contact about five minutes after I removed my email address from my post. She has been working on her tree for years and so have I. I have not actually used Genes Reunited for this purpose, but came to a brick wall and figured I had nothing to lose. Actually I first joined many years back, but never used it. Now there is so much more on this site. It is amazing. Looking forward to getting to know you all better. Thanks again :-) |
