Trying to find out about my fathers family. His father was Thomas Barclay married to Agnes born around the 1900's. They had a big family and lived in Blantyre Scotland where he was a coal merchant, he died in his 50's his wife Agnes came from Wishaw I think she was a school teacher and her brother was also a teacher - trying to trace any links to this big family. My fathers siblings mostly lived in the Blantyre/Cambuslang area they are Agnes, Nancy, John, Sonny, Harry, William (my father) Mary. Would appreaciate any help in filling in the blanks

Hi Stella, my father was sunny ( Thomas Barclay ) who would be your fathers brother.

It's several years since Stella posted that, and she's not likely to be looking here for replies now.

You can try sending her a private message (click on her name at the top of her post).
If she still has the same email address registered with GR, they'll let her know that she has a message from you.

There is a record of a marriage of Thomas Barclay to an Agnes Fairley in Larkhall,Lanarkshire in 1911.

If you subscribe to Scotland's People you will be able to access a copy of their marriage certificate.

You will also be able to access the Census for 1911 to confirm that you are on the right track.

The cost is £7-00 for 30 credits.
