Sandra - you might not have noticed that Lynn posted this in 2006. If she doesn't reply then you might try sending her a message by clicking on her name - if Genes have her current email address she will be notified.

Hi,

John did join the Australian Army with service number 1999. Unfortunately he did not return to Australia as he died of disease in Egypt and is buried in the Cairo Military Cemetery using his correct surname. John's military records are open to the public in the National Australian Archives. When you open the site , when it has search just enter Bray 1999.
Also look under Australian War Memorial - on the right it has Roll of Honour click on this and enter his name.

looking for information for a John Fugazza born about 1885, Middlesex England. I think he joined the Australian army during ww1 and used the name John Bray.
