If you 'google' the name Henry Winnington Nield, several Ancestry entries come up that folk in Australia have put on and there is a mention of an Alfred and also several photographs. It might be worth taking a look.

I know this is a bit late but do you know anything about J.J.W.Nields son Alfred by his second marriage to Emily Bullen other than his death. I.e. marriage and or children. and do you have any idea where the name "Window" came from

I have friends named Nield. They are in their late sixties/70's. Their father and grandfather were butchers in the Pendleton area. I don't suppose there is any connection with yourself is there?

I am a Nield and have information on John James Window Nield (listed below) which may be of help.

John James Window married Emily Bullen at the Register Office, Chorlton, Manchester on the 8/11/1902 and was living at 5 Brunswick Street, Pendleton. His occupation was a Compositor and his Father was Nathan (City Missionary) deceased. He was a widower, therefore Elizabeth Ann had died prior to this date.

A child of this second marriage was Walter born 17/8/1903 Ardwick, Chorlton. He died on the 20/8/1971 Rotherham, South Yorks.

Walter married Irene Constance Cooke and had a son Warwick Ian born 10/7/1944.

Warwick married Janet Platts on the 2/10/1965 in Rotherham and had a son Darryl born 19/1/1968 and a daughter Zoe Ann born 7/6/1975 both in Rotherham.

Within John James Window's decendants by the second marriage is a son Alfred born 1908 and died 16/7/1966. He was found dead in the River Mersey at Stretford, an inquest was held on the 21/7/1966.

The family above are therefore relatives of your Harry so I hope this will help.

I am trying to find any living relatives of Harry (Henry) Winnington Nield Born 1890 in Salford Lancs. Actual Location was 114 West Park St. His father was John James Window Nield and his mother's maiden name was Elizabeth Ann Walmsley Father's occupation was a Compositor. Harry Migrated to Australia in 1913 aboard the SS Gothic, with Wife Maria (nee Rawson) and Daughters Lily and Marie (My Mother).
