The first DERGES are believed to have come to England with William III who was the Prince of Orange and later became King of England. They landed at Brixham in Torbay, Devonshire on November 5th 1688 and marched to London via Exeter and Oxford. No further information has come to light about the name until the middle of the nineteenth century.
