Generation 1. My maiden name is BOWDEN Generation 2 .My Father: Joseph William BOWDEN was born March 19, 1887 at St Leonard's on Sea Sussex, England. Joseph Williams' parents: Generation 3. Father: Joseph BOWDEN--born November 28, 1851 at East Street, South Molton. (According to his birth cert the name was spelled BAWDEN) Mother: Charlotte Eliza SMITH Generation 4. Josephs' family: Father: Henry BAWDEN. Occupation--woolcomber Mother: Elizabeth BAWDEN formerly WEBBER married Jan 1, 1847 at the Parish Church in the Parish of North Molton (Jane Webber is a witness) Generation 5. Henry's father was Joseph BAWDEN. Elizabeth's father is Robert WEBBER In the 1861 censes of South Molton, I found the following information: William BOWDEN age 16 was living at 139 Fore Street with Robert and Jane WEBBER James BOWDEN age 12 " " " " " " " " Joseph " " 9 Same---------------------------------------------------- Living At Whitnefs at the same time with Henry and Elizabeth Bowden: Elizabeth age 6 years Mary age 4 years John age 2 years Jane age 1 month ( The older boys went to live witth grandparents while the baby was born and after- that's my guess)
