My branch of the McMahons originated in County Clare, Ireland and the family arrived in North East England around 1850-60. My great grandfather was Hugh McMahon and I understand he was a steelworker in Durham and his father was also called Hugh. Married a Mary Ann Sharkey in the 1870's and they had 8 daughters. I know he had siblings (one of whom was called James) but know nothing about them and would be grateful for any info.
