Member Since: March 2003 Posts: 1 Send Message	The name Syratt is common from around the North Buckinghamshire area. After the Norman Conquest (1066), King William built many churches & abbeys. One of the stonemasons brought across from Normandy was called SYRATT. He is listed as working on the Abbey at Newton Longville. This abbey has long since disappeared - but the Syratt name lives on.
