Looking for relatives of my late, paternal, grandfather, John "Jack" Gillan. He was born in Pimlico in 1883, father was Patrick (born in Ireland, he was a police constable with the Metropolitan Police), mother was Margaret (nee Connell, also born in Ireland). John had four brothers, Joseph, Dennis, Patrick and Francis. My grandfather left England in the early 1900s for Canada,as part of the British Army. He married (twice) and raised three sons, Patrick, Jackie and Denis. Jackie died in Korea, Denis (my dad) in 1998 in England. Patrick is still living in Ottawa. When my mother died in 2000, I came across an old address book with London addresses for an "F" and a "P" Gillan, does this ring bells with any other Gillans out there? I have managed to trace my paternal grandmothers family, so would love to do the same for the other side of the family. Can anyone help? Many thanks. |
