Hi Sharon,
I know this is an old post from you but I am wondering if you are still wanting information? My Grandad was Frank Hartles, brother to the Alf you know about, and yes Eric IS the same family. I have masses of research, and am happy to share if you are interested. Let me know -

imformation wanted on WILLIAM HARTLES(widnes)cheshire/lancashire.Father to ERIC HARTLES D.O.B 1931,WIDNES.Also daughters of WILLIAM HARTLES,ISSABELLA/BELLA(Westbank/widnes) and MARGRET/MAGGIE(WHO DIED ONLY AGED 32 YRS).I know ALF HARTLES was along with his brother coal merchants in WIDNES ,but as far as Iknow no relation to our side of the family!And BERTHA HARTLES ,I dont know any thing at all.
