Well Ann that's a turn up ...

Mind you if that's an accurate copy of the 1881 information it appears wrong on the ages of Phillip and Elizabeth .

His age at 1911 (census) was 68 and he had been married 38 years to Elizabeth (of Welles Somerset birth) he was then living at 4 Brighton Terrace .

Elizabeth was 64 .

the 1891 Census pitches him though as a "Cola Miner" at 22 West Street with similar kids and his age is 48 and Elizabeth's age is 42 .

From family notes of passed down oral testimony taken in the 1990's :

"Phillip Tovey married (twice) and from his 1st marriage
the children were :
Rose , Albert , Louise.
From his 2nd marriage (wife Elizabeth) his children were :
Phillip , Sydney, Frederick, Emily, Charles, “Ginny”, Helen."

That 1881 Census ref is him okay (apart from the ages) and Emily in the 1881 Census I see is "1" and in the 1911 Census she is 31.. She even signed off the Census form . She was single...
